Premier Electric was founded in 1988 by Robert
Forbis, a third generation electrical contractor
with a family history of electrical contracting
success dating back to the early 1900s. Robert's
grandfather was one of the original electrical
contactors in the US.
Robert earned his Florida master's license
in 1986 and two years after that, in 1988, he
started Premier Electric with $10,000 in savings
and three initial employees. Within six months
he had 55 employees and was ranked the fastest
growing company on the west coast of Florida.
Premiere Electric is now celebrating 28 years in business.
Premier Electric Milestones
1988
Premier Electric is founded on October 9, 1988 by Robert Forbis on his son's 5th birthday. Premier lands its first multifamily project, the 400 unit Lakeside Project, for Erickson Communities.
1989
Premier Electric grows to 55 employees, named by Southwest Florida Business magazine as the fastest growing business in Southwest Florida. Sales of $1.8 million for the first full year in business. Premier is selected to wire the 456 unit Fountainview rental project for Boran Craig Barber Construction. Premier wires 225 units in one month.
1991
Premier Electric awarded the largest multifamily project in Collier County history, the Barefoot Beach Project. Projects consists of 12 seven story 36 and 24 unit beachfront buildings with an electrical value of over $4 million.
1992
Premier Electric is chosen as the electrical contractor for the new Waterside Shops, Naples finest ultra high-end shopping center.
1994
Premier Electric wires its first high-rise condo, the 18 story Bayshore Place for Kraft Construction, developed by Erickson Communities.
Premier Electric is ranked for the first
time by Engineering News Record as one of
the largest 600 Specialty Contractors in
the USA. Sales are now $18 million.
2006
Premier Electric enjoys a record year
with sales of $49 million dollars and 650
employees
and is ranked as the 5th largest electrical contractor in Florida.
2007
Premier Electric is selected to design/build the electrical and audio/video and control systems for the most expensive home ever sold in Florida history. Electrical and low voltage add up to $4.4 million dollars.
2010
Premier completes Desoto Palms Assisted Living Facility in Sarasota for CORE Construction. Premier installed the electrical wiring, backup generator, and nurses call system.
2014
Premier Electric completes Ranch Lake Apartments in Bradenton, a 336 unit project for CORE Construction
2014
Premier completes the Raymond Design Center in downtown Naples for Naples Redevelopment.
